Special propeller-sirens on their landing gear called Trumpets of Jericho produced an infamous howling sound intended to terrorize bystanders on the ground. However, the sirens were later removed

The first was the warning - a rising and falling signal, created by varying the power to the siren. The second was the all clear - a single, continuous note. After it was confirmed the skies were What caused the Stuka scream? As mentioned above, the Stuka’s famous scream was due to a siren installed in the airplane (either in the leading edge of the wings or on the landing gear). This was phased out in later models because equipping a bomber with an air raid siren proved to be counterproductive once the enemy got over the initial shock.

Sorry Daffy. I used to have one called "sirens of death" everyone seemed to enjoy it. But AI changes have made it impossible to make singleplayer Stuka content. I have many missions sitting dormant waiting however I have changed gears and am approaching this game differently. For me multiplayer is annoying.
In WW2, the Stuka pilots often came very close to blacking out and many in fact did briefly. While Stuka was probably the best of all the dive bombers in the war, it undoubtedly placed the most amount of strain on both the plane and the pilot. And since the dive procedure was more or less automated, you can't exactly do a gentler dive.
Siren devices were attached to the wings’ leading edge just forward of the Stuka’s fixed landing gear. The sound was meant to be memorable, weaken the morale of the enemy, and cause mass fear of the German dive-bomber. Did the Stuka have retractable landing gear? The Stuka did not need extra range of retractable gear.
The Stuka was the A-10 of its day, and did its best ground support work in areas where air superiority was established. It was never meant to be a fighter, even in the hands of an expert pilot. $\endgroup$ –

All aluminum custom made "Jericho Trumpet" ready for your Stuka. This thing is LOUD! There aren't many of these around, let alone for sale here. This is the last one I have for sale. I don't plan on making any more of them, so this may be it. These have a mount on the back to bolt on a Hitec hs-55 servo to be used as a brake.

iirc the psychological effect of the siren was more of a nice bonus rather than the main purpose, originally it was created so that the pilot would be able to estimate the speed of the aircraft during a dive while still having eyes fixated on the target. The higher the speed, the more high-pitched the siren sound becomes

In early war when the Blitzkrieg went across Poland and France the Stuka's played an important role at demoralizing the retreating enemy forces. The sound of the siren quickly teached anybody fear of the precise dive attacks and once heared it nearly became as threatening to the soldiers and civillians as the payload itself.

A: Switch weapons and fire (the guide up there explains you how to do it). If the bombs is a JDAM, switch to camera mode (guide), press the Free view key (guide) if you are the driver to move the camera, and fire at the place where you want the bomb to blow up. If the Stuka turns on its sirens at about 14,000 feet (splitting the difference between the two quotes I found). With the speed of sound at about 700 mph in these cold temperatures (roughly 1,000 feet per second), that sound would start reaching the ground about 14 seconds later.
\n \n \n \nhow did the stuka siren work
What are the sirens on the Stuka called? Upon the leading edges of its faired main gear legs were mounted ram-air sirens known as Jericho trumpets, which became a propaganda symbol of German air power and of the so-called Blitzkrieg victories of 1939–1942, as well as providing Stuka pilots with audible feedback as to speed.
Does anybody know if the sirens mounted on the undercarriage of the Stuka were left on throughout all models and if so did the pilots bother to use them, particularly towards the end of the war. Had they lost their demoralizing effect by then? Also, would be interested too hear a ground test of the siren, i.e not in the usual power-dive scenario.
You may could be in luck, but we will have to wait and see. All Stuka models are being updated (along with a working and animated bombing trapeze!) and let's hope the siren changes too (no mention of that though). #12. A Toaster Feb 28, 2017 @ 8:17am. they are making an update for all ju 87 stukas ingame. The Junkers Ju 87 or simply Stuka (from Sturzkampfflugzeug "dive-bomber") was a German dive bomber and ground-attack aircraft used in World War 2. The Stuka appears in several Medal of Honor games. The Stuka's most notable feautre it's siren or "Jericho Trumpet" which was designed for weakening the enemy's morale. The Stuka first saw action in 1939 during the Invasion of Poland and later
5 minutes read. The Ju-87 Stuka dive bomber was the classic precision bomber which provided very effective "airborne artillery" support to the rapidly advancing columns of German tanks in their Blitzkrieg tactic. Its main disadvantage was that it was a slow and easy target for enemy fighters. Unlike high altitude level bombing, which was not
ROG take off, steep climb out at approx 60-70 degrees, approx 200-250 foot altitude, full power dive, no whistles, but the TE of the wing tips would buzz with a neat sound, cool. Did this 4 times, no whistle/siren heard over the planes other noises. Now for the 2 liter funnel, attached between the landing gear.
