Not sure on specifics though. Sorry you had an engine fail on you. There are several on this site who have experienced this, including myself. My N55 failed with less than 48K miles and was diagnosed rod bearing noise caused by "connecting rod knock, internal engine failure".

The tech says the belt tensioner pulley frame is bending and that this was a known defect but BMW won't recognize it. Only recourse is to replace the entire belt tensioner pulley and frame assembly.
The car all checked out with the acception of a small leak localized to the turbo area. I have attached two pictures the mechanic has sent of the leak, I have no experience with turbos (currently own a 325i e90), or n20 engines, so I have no context of what the photos are looking at. Oil leak 328i 2013 help. Hey everyone. Bought a 2013 BMW 328i about a week ago. Got the oil smell and smoke coming from the back toward the passenger side.
